This Is Sheffield

This Is Sheffield Hamper Competition

Hands up if you’ve had enough of lockdown? We feel your pain so we want to treat a few of you.

We’ve teamed up with some of our Sheffield faves who’ve kindly donated some amazing prizes. We wish we could keep either of these bundles for ourselves but we’re proud to give somebody else the opportunity to enjoy something new, something that represents how great our city is, even during these crappy times.

Head over to our Facebook page to enter.

  • PRIZE BUNDLE 1
  • PRIZE BUNDLE 2

2 bottles of wine and chocolate from Le Bon Vin.

Le Bon Vin are one the leading wine merchants in the north. Since 1986 the Sheffield based business has been supplying independents and drinkers with wine you won't find en-masse.

They source exclusive bottles (they are the only supplier of France's Cavavin group in the UK) but it's their passion, knowledge and customer service that have helped them grow over the years.

We don't know much about wine ourselves but we trust that the pair up for grabs won't disappoint.

225g of natural Brazilian Coffee Beans from Albies Coffee.

Albies coffee shop on Snig Hill is Castlegate's local hang, open Monday to Friday, a space to take a minute or have a natter with pals.

Opened in 2018 by Fraser and Robyn, the brother and sister combo have focussed on the important parts of a coffee shop, the coffee and the atmosphere and they have nailed it.

The coffee beans up for grabs are perfect for recreating that coffee shop brew. Don't have a coffee grinder? Pop in to Albies (for a coffee) when they reopen and they'll grind them for free.

We look forward to seeing your attempts of a heart-shape froth sitting on top of your coffee, snapped for the 'gram.

Cookies and Jam from Forge Bakehouse.

When it comes to bakeries, Sheffield has some real goods ones. Forge Bakehouse have been growing their reputation since 2012, it now sits comfortably on Abbeydale Road, offering more than just a fresh loaf.

These days Forge Bakehouse is known for its cafe as much as it's baked good (all cooked fresh in-house), you'll struggle to get a seat on a weekend.

Prior to lockdown Forge Bakehouse had started a pop-up at the train station and were set for a weekly residence at Cutlery Works. Hopefully we'll be seeing Forge around the city once normal life returns.

More about Forge Bakehouse can be found on their website. Follow them on Facebook here.

Jewellery making kit from CAST.

CAST is a jewellery making experience set up by Sheffield brothers James and Luke in 2016.

The pair deliver workshops in Sheffield and further afield where attendees get to make their own piece of jewellery (rings, earrings, pendants, broaches and cufflinks) which are then cast in gold, silver and platinum by the boys and returned within 2 weeks. The workshops are generally held in restaurants so you can feast whilst creating.

They also offer kits so that you can create at home, which is what you'll find in this bundle.

Moonshine mini kit from Abbeydale Brewery.

Abbeydale Brewery are a multi award winning brewery who've evolved over the past 24 years to become one of the most forward-thinking in the country.

When it comes to beer, Abbeydale Brewery have it covered, from a traditional ale (Moonshine) to lager (Heresy), a staple pale (Heathen) and experimentals (the Funk Dungeon collection).

Abbeydale Brewery are always ahead of the game and it's that attitude that has helped them through lockdown. Once enforced the brewery lost 90% of its business overnight, within a few days they had turned their focus directly to the drinkers, delivering cans and mini-kegs to doorsteps so people didn't have to go through isolation sober.

This demand allowed them the opportunity to get an in-house canning machine, leading to Moonshine being canned for the very first. The beer, found in many real ale pubs in Sheffield and beyond, now available in fridges at bottle shops, the Abbeydale Brewery online shop and in this bundle. It's Sheffield in a can.
